User Agreement

Effective 2 October 2026 · Version 1.0

This User Agreement applies when you access or use Kanyoou. Kanyoou is developed by RTECHO LAB PTY LTD (ABN 14 666 363 382), Australia, with support from Malak Foundation Incorporated.

1. What Kanyoou is

Kanyoou is an educational discovery game designed to make Chinese characters and expressions feel more familiar through visual puzzles, recognition, pronunciation and contextual encounters.

2. Educational limitation

Kanyoou is not a formal language course, translator, examination service or language-certification product. Meanings, pronunciations and visual memory aids are provided for learning and discovery. Some characters have multiple meanings or pronunciations depending on context.

Visual component stories and animations are memory aids. Unless expressly stated otherwise, they should not be treated as definitive claims about the historical etymology of a Chinese character.

3. Your use of Kanyoou

You may use Kanyoou for personal learning and ordinary educational use. You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access to systems, distribute malicious code, or use the service in a way that violates applicable law.

4. Intellectual property

The Kanyoou product design, interface, original artwork, game systems, copy and original media are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licences.

The Kanyoou theme track 沙海月 is credited to Meeta and is provided as part of the Kanyoou experience. You may listen to it through Kanyoou, but this agreement does not grant a separate right to redistribute or commercially reuse the recording.

5. Chinese language content

Kanyoou aims to present useful and accurate Chinese-language content, but language is contextual and the release may contain errors, simplifications or alternative valid interpretations. We may correct, replace or improve content over time.

6. Availability and changes

Kanyoou may be updated, expanded, paused, changed or discontinued. Features may behave differently across browsers and devices. We do not promise uninterrupted availability.

7. Third-party links

Links to RTECHO LAB, Malak Foundation or other third-party websites are provided for convenience. Their content and services are governed by their own terms and policies.

8. No exclusion of mandatory rights

Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Kanyoou is provided on an “as available” basis. RTECHO LAB does not guarantee that every learning outcome, translation, pronunciation, device feature or external link will always be error-free or available. Liability is limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Governing law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, this agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without limiting any mandatory rights that apply where you live.

11. Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement as Kanyoou evolves. Continued use after an updated agreement is published means the updated terms apply from their stated effective date, subject to applicable law.
